Thonet's success story began with Michael Thonet (1796-1871), in establishing the transition from the production of manually produced furniture to industrial production.

The family-owned company has been based in Frankenberg, north of Hesse in Germany, since 1938. Today, classic furniture in curved wood and tubular steel, as well as contemporary collections, are produced in facilities equipped with production and a experimented workers team.
